Taken from Mophie.com:

How many charge cycles do you get in the juice pack air™ for iPhone 3G & 3GS?

The juice pack™ is rechargeable for over 500 cycles. (Full cycles, partial cycles don’t count as full.
So, you can charge your juice pack 10% of the way 10 times before it counts as a complete cycle.)
Don’t be afraid to top it off! After 500 cycles, its fully charged capacity will be less than 75%
of the the capacity when it’s new.

Jason mentions his only complaint on May 8th: If the iPhone's GPS is on (active) and the Air is charging (in standby mode?) then the iPhone battery actually drains and cannot charge since the current is only 1/2 Amp.
Is that correct? Is there is a distinction between the charging dynamics of the Passive GPS versus Active GPS modes?

I thought Mophie stated the Air and the iPhone will both charge when the Air is in standby and plugged in to active power.

Yep, one is a speaker, the other is a mic. Surprisingly, these gaps work rather well, even in speakerphone mode.

My only complaint, is the 1/2A charging current. If you are using an application that uses GPS (such as a game), and you are charging the juice pack air, the phone's battery actually starts draining, because it cannot charge the air and the phone at the same time (when using GPS).

@Jason B. Standing: Hey Jason, those "gaps" are sounds ports for the speakers at the bottom of your iPhone. They are designed to direct the sound towards you when your juice pack is on the phone!

Mine arrived this morning, so I'm keen to test out its rescuing properties soon!

One thing I wasn't sure about - my phone doesn't appear to sit flush with the bottom of the case. It's like there's 2 a small gap either side of the iPhone connector. The top of the case slides on and it all sits correctly, but I was a little unsure about these gaps. Won't they get stuffed full of pocket crud?

It's like the molding of the plastic at the bottom doesn't match the iPhone 3G's curve.

Ah well, will see how we go!

@Jason: I will point out though, it is nice having the silence button protected more. I find mine switching states all the time from getting it in and out of my pockets...

Yeah, I don't know about the micro/mini thing, but they are micro. I just got mine today.

Very impressed with it so far. Interesting thing though, and I'm glad it works the way it does. If you have the switch turned off (i.e., it is not charging the iPhone), and you plug the micro USB cable in, not only does it charge the air, but it charges the phone! I figured you would have to slide the switch over to charge, before it would charge the phone. Nice feature...must mean the switch does not actually switch direct power to the iPhone, but instead, it is a control input to some other electronics.

Way to go with this one Mophie. I like the build quality of this one. The only thing hard to get to, is the silence switch, when it has already been silenced, and you want to turn the ringer back on. Works fine, if you have any amount of a fingernail.
